Today brings us a beautiful coastal adventure!

We’re easing into the day with something light to get our bodies moving. We’ll start by taking the bus to Matosinhos, just outside Porto. From there, we’ll head to the coast and begin our Camino walk.

Today’s path follows the shoreline, leading us past fishing villages, historic forts, and charming chapels. We’ll also have plenty of time to take in the gorgeous sandy beaches along the way.

Today is another gentle walking day, continuing along the coastline on a scenic boardwalk. Along the way, we’ll pass the prehistoric Castro of San Paio before making our way toward Vila do Conde.

After settling in at Vila do Conde, you’ll have the option to walk up to the Convento de Santa Clara. From there, you can take in stunning views of the town and coastline and explore the charming medieval district.

We will have a nice flat day as we hug the coastline and enjoy the ocean views along with its nice breeze. A good part of the day will be on boardwalks and small paths. We will cross the iron bridge over the Cavadoy river before arriving in the city of Esposende.

Today we will continue our Camino coastal walk from Esposende. The route will take us through serene country lanes, pleasant woodland paths, and charming river crossings. Upon arriving in Viana, we can indulge in the local cuisine, explore the historic center of the town, or take a funicular ride up to the Basílica de Santa Luzía for stunning views.

Trains, boats and hiking will be our day!

Today we will take a short train ride out of Viana do Castelo to Caminha. Caminha lies on the Minho River, just on the other side Spain awaits us. We will walk to our ferry and take the water taxi ride across the river.

Once we disembark, we will make our way to Oia. Known for its Monastery, we will stop here for lunch in one its quaint restaurants. After lunch, we will taxi to Baiona.

Our day follows rugged coastline, quiet roads, and forested trails as we make our way to Oia. It’s a day filled with ocean air, rocky shores, lighthouses, and the gentle rhythm of walking beside the Atlantic.

We will now be in Spain and experience our first taste of the Galician forests! Enjoy. A nice surprise awaits you in Baiona ... we will be staying at the Parador!! A nice treat in the middle of your pilgrimage.

We will head out today with another train ride to start the day. Baiona to Redondela, once we disembark the train, we will make our way to the Camino and walk to Pontevedra.

Today marks our final day with views of the coast. We will pass through the charming fishing village of Arcade, where, if it's lunchtime, we can stop to sample its famous oysters. Afterward, we will cross the Verdugo River via the historic Ponte Sampaio, the site of one of Napoleon’s greatest defeats in Galicia.

From here, we will follow a picturesque cobbled road leading to the 13th-century Church of Santa María. Along the way, we’ll take in the magnificent views over the Bay of Vigo as we make our way toward Pontevedra.

Today, departing from the city of Pontevedra, the Camino will lead us through a diverse landscape of chestnut groves, vineyards, and fragrant pine and eucalyptus forests.

In the village of Pontecabras, we will take a moment to admire the historic rectory of Santa María de Alba before continuing on to Lombo da Maceira, where a statue of Saint James stands, his walking stick pointing the way for pilgrims.

Further along, we will pass through the charming hamlet of Tivo, home to a lovely fountain and a traditional public washing area.

Tonight, we will rest in the spa town of Caldas de Reis, where we can unwind and soak in the soothing waters of a natural hot spring.

Today, our walk begins in Caldas de Reis as we cross the Umia River and pass by the ancient hot springs that have given the town its name since Roman times. From there, the path leads us gently upward into forested hills before guiding us toward the village of Santa Marina.

Later, we will cross the Fontenlo River and continue through peaceful pine forests until we arrive at our destination for the day—Padron.

According to tradition, Padron is where the body of Saint James was brought ashore before being carried to Santiago de Compostela. Here, we can obtain a Certificate of Padron and visit the church that houses the stone post said to have moored the ship.

Today is the day—we will finally arrive in Santiago de Compostela! The anticipation fills the air, and we can feel the energy of our fellow pilgrims pushing us forward, even when our legs grow weary. Each step carries us closer to the moment we’ve been waiting for.

As we make our way into the city, the busy streets won’t dampen our spirit. Nothing can compare to the thrill of stepping into the grand Plaza del Obradoiro, standing before the magnificent Cathedral of Santiago—the final destination of our pilgrimage!

We may wish to celebrate this achievement by attending the Pilgrim’s Mass. There are now two opportunities to join: one at noon and another at 7:30 in the evening. Either way, it will be a powerful and unforgettable moment to mark the completion of our Camino.

Enjoy a free day in Santiago de Compostela, where history and culture blend beautifully. Start your morning with a stroll through the charming Old Town, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and admire the stunning architecture of the Santiago Cathedral. Visit local artisan shops for unique souvenirs and savor a delicious gallego lunch at a traditional tapas bar.

In the afternoon, take a peaceful walk in the lush Parque de la Alameda, offering breathtaking views of the city.

Don't miss the chance to indulge in some local pastries at a cozy café. This day allows you to soak in the vibrant atmosphere and rich heritage of this enchanting city.

Today we make our way to the airport. Some may be traveling onward and some may be flying home. Flight from Santiago to Madrid is included, if you are needing to fly to Porto or Lisbon. I can include but there will be an additional fee due to cost of flight. This cost will be given at time of booking if needed.
