Leaving Palas de Rei, today marks one of the longest days on the Camino as we make our way to Arzúa. Along the route, we will pass through the lively town of Melide, famous for its local specialty, pulpo a la gallega—tender octopus seasoned with paprika, olive oil, and sea salt—a delicious treat for pilgrims to enjoy. You may wish to try for an early lunch.
The path continues through rolling hills, forests, and traditional Galician villages before reaching our destination, Arzúa, a charming town known for its creamy, flavorful cheeses. It’s a day to pace yourself, savor the journey, and celebrate small delights along the way, culminating in a well-earned rest in Arzúa.
